How the pandemic affected education?

With the opening of classes on 24 August 2020 fast approaching, the first question in mind will be: "How will be the education going to look like in the new normal?"

The Department of Education promotes "Blended Learning Approach" in the new normal in which students will be educated based on the resources they have. Students who can go online may do so; student who cannot afford will be given printed modules instead.
Modalities of Learning

Depending on the learning preferences of the child as stated in their Learner Enrollment and Survey Tagging Facility. Each modality is tailored to the health condition, economic situation and learning competency that must be attained by the student at the end of the school year.
-
Modular learning refers to learning in which is done by printed materials designed for independent learning. The materials have the activities, references, exercises and diagnostic and summative tests all integrated into learning packets.
-
Online distance learning is the application of technology in the continuation of learning. This enables the students to simulate a classroom environment online while staying at home. While this has greater capabilities for learning, not everyone may be able to afford the expense to have one.
-
Blended learning is the combination of both modular and online distance modalities. In this case, the student has the material in which they will learn on their own but will be supported by online methods of learning. This aims to combine the strengths of the two former approaches and increased flexibility while allowing the student to learn on their own.

Whatever the modality that a student will be using, it is highly advisable to maintain contact with the adviser and be updated for latest announcements and schedule of activities especially distribution and retrieval dates.
